The First Hoops™ project is a one-of-a-kind multi-platform campaign that captures the emotional magic of one’s “first hoop” through inspiring photographs and videos of athletes, celebrities and everyday fans sharing their very personal memories from that special moment and time. These images will resonate with an immediate emotional pull bringing viewers of all ages back to the memory of their own “first hoop” and how they came to love the game of basketball.
Although the concept is sports based, it transcends the world of sports. First Hoops™ tells the story of inspiration, sacrifice, family, motivation, hard work, determination and achievement touching the hearts of the entire family—kids, teens, mothers, fathers, grandparents—and eliciting these important core feel- ings that can tap into and align with any brand.
First Hoops™ LLC has an exclusive contract with the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, MA for a photography and video exhibition.
The First Hoops™ exhibit will premiere in the summer of 2014 for one year at the Hall of Fame and will be on display during the 2014 NCAA Final Four weekend. Future plans include touring all professional basketball arenas throughout the U.S. and traveling internationally as well.
First Hoops™ is also teaming up with National Geographic to produce a 168 page coffee table book for the Hall of Fame exhibition, the traveling international exhibition and to be sold at retail books stores and online.
The one thing that every member of the Hall of Fame shares in common is their career started exactly the same. It doesn’t matter if the member was from the playgrounds of NYC, the corn fields of Indiana or streets of Croatia.
Their career started with two simple things a Ball and a Hoop.
Since the concept of bringing every Hall of Famer’s physical “First Hoop” to the Hall of Fame would not be possible, then next and of course better thought is to bring all the first hoops to the Hall of Fame through photography and video.
The “First Hoops™” concept is to photograph all the Hall of Famer’s first hoops and create a his- torical and permanent photography exhibition at the Hall of Fame complex. The historical significance, the visual impact and the eclectic array of the inductees “First Hoops™” would lend itself to a important addition to the Hall of Fame.
